Real money online poker
Here’s one of the biggest online poker news of the past years
All about Black Friday!
One of the largest segments of the online gambling business is comprised of online poker. This game has the most fans out of all of the card games out there, and it’s all because it’s a game that does wonders for players of all shapes and sizes. There are currently thousands of people from all corners of the world that do this for a living, and they’re some of the luckiest and most successful players in the online gambling business.
But online poker, and especially online poker real money sites, have suffered a major blow over the past year, when several of the largest online poker rooms in the United States essentially got shut down after the US Department of Justice, along with the FBI, unleashed a nationwide investigation, accusing the sites, along with their CEOs and board of directors, of fraud. Ever since then, Poker Stars, the UB network and Full Tilt Poker have left the country, with Full Tilt being shut down completely, worldwide, for a couple of months starting with July 2011.
But the upside from all of this is the fact that following the Black Friday events (as the April events have been called ever since then) is the fact that these actions have raised a lot of attention regarding the overall state of online poker, both within the United States and worldwide. Ever since then, lawmakers have started to push laws that would regulate the state of online poker and make it legal for companies to be active in this area. There are currently several US states that have started to push such laws, and there are serious talks about them going through this year. Other countries in Europe, such as Denmark and Spain, have already adjusted their laws to be more permissive towards online poker and online poker players.
This translates into some pretty good news for online poker players and online poker companies alike. Poker companies can now conduct their activities in a much simpler fashion, and players can be assured that nothing like the whole April 15th disaster happens again. If you would like to see more information about the Black Friday events, you should check out the main page over at OnlinePokerRealMoney.com. The editors at Online Poker Real Money have put together a very thorough article regarding these incidents, and you can have a much better understanding of everything related to the events after reading them, including the sites where it’s now safe to play.
So basically, the current state of online poker is tougher for online poker players in the United States (even impossible at times), but the good news is the fact that it’s certainly getting better, and we are positive that things will take a turn for the better in the near future.
